Who and what?

Objective of Father Quadras India vzw

Non-profit association with the objective to provide, on a small scale, but efficiently, financial support to some of the poorest children in India in order to give them a better future through a normal school education.

What is Father Quadras India vzw?

Under the impulse of the Indian priest Father Santan Quadras an initiative starts in 1989 in Merksem to provide financial support to deprived children.

Children originating from extremely poor villages in the south of India are accommodated in the mission posts Maski and Harapur to receive a normal school education. Besides education they also receive food and lodging. Following the tragic death of Father Quadras in 1998 two young priests are mandated by the bishop to continue his work. Hard work is indeed delivered but the list of needy children seems to be endless.
Today our non-profit association sponsors about two hundred children. The gifts received from donors, sponsors and foster parents are transmitted integrally to India through the official channel of the local diocese who supervises the activities. The need remains enormous. More and more children are begging for support.
The people in charge of the missions are also asking for more support in school equipment and lodging for the children they are accommodating.
